USAV Charts Record Year in 2014
Denver, Colo.—Jan. 29, 2015—2014 was a noteworthy year paralleled by none other in USAV history. USAV, an association of leading professional audio-visual (ProAV) integrators, closed out the year with nearly 50 members, marking a continuous growth path since its inception in 2001. Membership size is not the only significant area of mention for USAV this year, the organization hosted and participated in a number of events making USAV’s industry presence larger than ever before—most memorable the 2014 USAV APEX Conference.
“Our focus is on providing a platform that bonds ProAV affiliates—integrators, manufacturers, vendors, service providers, etc.—into an elite industry team. While numbers are important, they are not the only part of the equation for USAV,” said USAV CEO K.C. Schwarz. “When looking back on 2014, I see that our numbers have grown, but of even greater importance, we have facilitated the growth of a family, a group of people who rely on each other and are becoming better as a result. To me, that is the biggest marker of success.”
Over the course of 2014, USAV added eight new dealers to the ranks, three integration service group members and five buying group members. The most recent integrator to come on-board was DasNet Corporation (www.DasNetCorp.com) in Long Island, NY. They joined the integration services group in December 2014.
“We are ecstatic about joining the USAV team and its compilation of national AV professionals,” said DasNet Corporation President & CEO D. Salley. “Although DasNet has a sizeable international footprint to serve the needs of our clients and partners abroad, it took years to develop and at considerable expense. As a new member of USAV, we plan to expand and develop our local presence domestically, within all fifty states, within a much shorter period and with experienced AV integration partners with similar interests and obligations. We look forward to connecting with each and every member to ascertain the ideal working relationship that best fits our mutual needs and those of our client(s) – the U.S. Government and U.S. Military.”
Others joining the USAV integration services team in 2014 include: Bridges System Integration in Herndon, VA and Cibola Systems in Orange, CA. In addition, Hoppmann Audio Visual in Chantilly, VA; SybaTek in Irving, CA; PARALLELTEK in Santa Fe Springs, CA; Onsite AV Service Partners in Austin, TX; and SVT in Brighton, MI joined the USAV buying group.
Eight USAV Integrators appeared on SCN’s list of 2014 Top 50 Systems Integrators published in late 2014. IVCi, Unified AV Systems, Red Thread, Advanced AV, Interactive Solutions, Tierney Brothers, LINX Multimedia, and Level 3 Audio Visual. These companies are among the most notable integrators in the industry and have earned a spot at the top for demonstrated economic performance.
The highlight of USAV’s year was the 2014 USAV APEX Conference held in Denver, Colo. in late September. Over 100 people representing 27 USAV Integrators and 18 USAV Preferred Manufacturer Partners (PMPs) and Preferred Service Providers (PSP) came together for a week of collaboration, training, and relationship building. Through a variety of training sessions, group discussions, and social events, attendees addressed the state of the ProAV industry and explored new and creative ways to remain dominant in the marketplace.
“The 2014 APEX conference was the best USAV event I have ever attended. The quality of the material addressed was excellent. I walked away with a arsenal of new ideas,” said Tempest Technologies General Manager Debbie Williamson. “I was also ecstatic to connect with so many amazing and smart people throughout the course of the event. What an incredible resource for the future.”
“When we founded USAV in the early 2000’s we had no idea it would grow into the organization that it is today. The companies we affiliate with have incredible work ethic and character,” said USAV Founder and CFO Chris Whitley. “It is amazing to see how far you can go when you have the right people on board. I am anxious to push forward into 2015 and watch USAV continue to reach new heights.”
