Patrick Whipkey (USAV) and guest co-host, Jay Kowalsky (Red Thread) chat with guest Chris Hope from The Loop Lab about supporting the next generation of business leaders. The Loop Lab focuses on empowering women and people of color in the media arts to develop careers in audio/video through job training and job placement.

Chris Hope, CTS

Chris Hope, CTS is the founder and executive director of The Loop Lab. Hope graduated from Tufts University, and then received his Masters at Harvard Divinity School. He now serves on the board of advisors for South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, on the board of Lesley University College of Art + Design, is a Creative Community Fellow for the National Arts Strategies, and on the Obama Foundation’s My Brother's Keeper Alliance in Cambridge, MA. 

Hope is also an accomplished Audio-Video professional and runs his own professional staffing business, Equity Intellgience LLC. He can be reached at [email protected]

Jay Kowalsky

Red Thread

Jay started his audio-visual career in 2000. He has held a variety of operational positions such as Technician, Project Manager and Installation Manager. Since joining Red Thread in 2005, Jay has championed the role of technology in Red Thread’s effort to help organizations create engaging work environments. Outside of being directly responsible for various technical elements and project management, he also plays a key role in customer engagement & liaises for the various business segments within Red Thread. Jay is very passionate about people, place and culture.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Endicott College as well as the AVIXA CTS-I designation. He lives north of Boston with his wife and their extended family, enjoying all the benefits of being native New Englanders.
